The last few weeks:
- I played bridge for the first time and liked it, though I never got to be declarer. Anybody else play? Let me know if you want to play sometime. If you're looking to learn, there's a really good free tutorial.
- Chris and I went to Vancouver and saw the Barenaked Ladies concert. Bizarrely, there was a group of five or six trashily dressed, overly enthusiastic 17-year-old girls sitting two rows in front of us. They spent a lot of their time hitting on the security guys and trying to get closer to the stage. For a while a couple of them made out with each other.
We also got to see Rachel and Steve, who are doing very well and send their regards to pretty much all of you.
- I already mentioned the spelling bee, but I have more information now; apparently the Evening Magazine thing will be on at the end of February.
- In an ill-fated return to old pastimes, I watched the Duke/UNC men's basketball game. That turned out poorly. I should have watched the women instead.
- And best for last -- Puzzle Hunt was this last weekend. Second Breakfast finished 21st out of 75 teams, solving 41 of 48 puzzles this year. I'm thrilled. This is by far our best showing ever, and we had an amazing time. Someday I'd love to finish a Hunt!
