But enough about you

I tried curling for the first time at the Granite Curling Club open house. I was just going to watch Jon play and spend a fun morning with Elliott, but Jon finished early and watched Elliott for an hour so that I could try it too.

It was great! I definitely want to try it again. As if I need a new hobby just now, right? Luckily the leagues don't start up until October, so maybe I'll get a chance to try it a few more times before I commit. The club is very comfortable, with multiple viewing areas, closed-circuit TV with overhead views of the scoring areas, a kids' play room, a pool table, a dance floor (!), and a snack bar. It's a very family-friendly facility.

They'll have more open houses in the fall and I'll likely post about it again then and ask if anybody wants to come check it out.
